The rules are fairly simply and a sort of race while collecting treasure as you sail through the seas come to islands, some with dangerous rival pirates or even supernatural baddies that are out to steal your gold!
Late in the development I added the "Landing on Occupied Islands" portion of the rules, which I think really a lot to the game and make it much more a competitive game. I know there are a few typos here and there but I will get back to this some time down the road and fix all those. After all, this was a fun side game challenge to myself, if I made a few booboos, I can live with it.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it and perchance you end up playing the game, let me know, I would love to hear about it!

I have followed the posts documenting your progress of the game's creation and I am glad to hear that it is finished. The rules are very easy to understand and seems to be a lot of fun after the first reading. This is something I would love to play. Great job, Matt!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I am seriously thinking of making more, it was really fun and a great learning process. I was wanting to do some work with leather, I think it would be neat to make the islands out of leather instead of drawing them.
DeleteNow this is something I have done before!
DeleteMay I suggest using a Colwood Woodburning Tool with a "G" small point tip to "burn" the images into the leather and other tips can be used for shading and hatching the images. Once the islands are burned in, use Gouache for coloring or "staining".
Check into Tandy Leather Co. for types/gauges of leather you are looking for depending on the look/thickness of each map "panel".
Anyway we can download the rules? For some reason, I can only see it as an embedded file.
ReplyDeleteI will have to fix that tonight, cannot access Drive from work. :)
