I'm not suggesting you roll a die for every single thing, which yes I realize already is sounding arbitrary. But I think my sort of golden rule is if there is no risk and failure doesn't really provide anything interesting then assuming what you are attempting is realistic then rolling isn't required.<br /Chris G.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11216445064695585331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4862476909691512457.post-75949133527546444182021-01-06T13:35:59.424-06:002021-01-06T13:35:59.424-06:00Couldn't the GM add in that randomization effe...Couldn't the GM add in that randomization effect and it feel the same? For example, I often make ruling based on the drop of a d6, so while "I made the decision", in reality it was an arbitrary die drop.matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04998881232495777586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4862476909691512457.post-62741672668011243112021-01-06T13:34:10.390-06:002021-01-06T13:34:10.390-06:00For me the element that randomization adds is the ...For me the element that randomization adds is the Game part of the equation and the point of Playing as well. We get together to jam some odd noodling (guitars with stand-up bass, "the Tree") and he cannot shut up about the chords . . . make that one a Diminished Minor, move that to a Sus-chord, too much pentatonics, man . . . you're playing in the box againHuckSawyerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13381444935904172318noreply@blogger.com
