Published Works

A couple of people have asked me to make maps or artwork for them over the years and recently it seems to have increased a bit, unfortunately I have been extremely busy while deployed so I have had to turn down many of them. One of the more common questions is to see my portfolio. While I have never claimed to be a professional illustrator I guess I should have a portfolio somewhere, so for now, this will serve as my official portfolio. :)

I admit I am using the term published rather loosely here to mean asked by others to make, made for something I released for others to use (as opposed to simply putting the map on the blog here), been paid for, or been part of a commercial product.

Brave Halflings X-Plorers: Ship Blueprints (maps)
When a call went out for ship floorplans for the new release of X-Plorers I submitted a single piece and then was asked to produce an additional piece for the boxed set. I ended up making three finished maps, two of which made it into the boxed set. I really enjoyed making these and they are quite a departure from my usual fantasy maps.

Update: John from BHP asked me to rework a map they had done for the first adventure module for X-Plorers, this time it was a blueprint for a rotating space station that has made an interesting, and dangerous discovery!

The New Moon Murders (Book Cover)
My friend Keith Athey is putting the last touches on his novella, a sort of noir detective story with some mystical twists. He was looking for a cover and toying with the idea of publishing and wanted a cover to help sell the book. I was able to find an excellent public domain image I manipulated slightly and drew on the darkness in the story and went for a cover with a lot of black.

Here is another book cover I did up for a book I started writing and then took a break, and well, never went back. Made a cover though, that counts for something, right?

Logos / Printed Work
I have been known over the years to do a little logo work as well, in fact I once co-owned a internet web-hosting company (that I will not name because my partner destroyed the company as I was trying to leave...long story). To help with the funding of the company, initially I did a slew of logo and web design work. Sadly, I lost all those logos over the years and computer upgrades.

The Clarksville Royals Logo - I recently took it upon myself to take a stab at a logo for my daughter's soccer team.
And a revised one, my daughter said it needed to say "Futbol Club"

My daughter is throwing a theme based Halloween party this year and asked me to come up with a ticket she could slip into the invites. (The skull I drew based on one I found online.)

Rassilon Region Map (map)
While not a commissioned or commercial piece, this was a map I made a few years ago and have had nothing but praise for. A friend was going to run a game taking place in Triple Ace's Hellfrost setting and neither of us cared much for the map that came with the published setting. Having grown up with the now canonical Forgotten Realms maps from TSR, I knew I loved the style and I wanted to see if I could emulate the style. The following map was the result.

Old School Stylized Maps
Over the last year or so I have really gotten into the Old School style of mapping and have produced numerous maps for my Lapsus Calumni Zine and for my own games. Below are some of the ones I am most proud of. I will be updating this with newer images at the top of the listing.

Random Maps (map)
As an avid GM of far too many games to mention, I have found need to make a map here and there for game sessions. Below are a few of the maps I have made for various game sessions over the last few years.

A quick note here. Below is a map that is a few years old now but I still get comments on it, be sure to click to load the full image to see it in all it's glory! This map was created for use with an adventure I wrote up for use with the virtual table top MapTools and involved some space marines checking out a space station that suddenly went quiet.

Dungeonmorph Dice Project (geomorphs)

I was joined by some of the best geomorph makers to be part of the Dungeonmorph Dice Kickstarter project, which ended up being far more successful than any of us had imagined. I ended up submitting a slew of dungeon tiles for this project and am humbled to have been part of this excellent group of artists who worked on this project.
