A return to form? I do not know, but I received a new Apple Pencil and wanted to give it a go so what better way than to draw a map. Last night I watched "Season of the Witch", not a fantastic film but somewhat fun and the end battle took place in a remote monastery so I think that subconsciously guided me on this one.
Good to see a Jackson map.

ReplyDeleteThx for the dungeon.
ReplyDeleteI'd be interested in your opinion about White Box Cyclopedia. After taking a look at the TOC of White Box Cyclopedia I'm not sure if it brings so much more to the table than the "normal" version of White Box. I love the small size of White Box…
This one is hard because I actually know James and I can appreciate the idea of 'everything in a single package' concept. That said, I much prefer the smaller footprint of something like White Box FMAG, it has enough to run games, is easy to tack on new ideas, is easy enough to add monsters, spells and magic items. . I know many of the heritages are a waste of space for me (Dhampirs...really?) and many of the classes are as well, some are pretty neat (I am looking at you Halfling Folk Mage!)
DeleteOdds are the Cyclopedia will become a reference book for me with more monsters, spells, and magic items but not used at the table 'as-is' and I will stick with FMAG as my go-to system. My spiral bound version I purchased through Lulu is a cherished book around my hobbit hole and I do not see anything changing that! That said, I eagerly support it and hope it becomes popular and encourages James to write more products for it. I know they have planned many more in the future and I hope that comes into existence.
Your words pretty much sum it up in a great way.
DeleteI also got FMAG spiral bound due to your video and did the same for ShadowDark. It's so much more practical than books.
Thanks and keep up the good work.
In one of your videos you said that you did some formatting of the front and back cover for your spiral bound version of White Box FMAG. Do you mind sharing this as the DriveThruRPG version comes without the covers. thanks
