so1um 0.5: solo RPG playtest, WWII


Another play report on the latest version of so1um, up to version 0.5 now, incorporating some rules suggested by +Carsten Rossner. This time we are tackling some WW2 paratrooper stuff, follow SGT Hammer and his three men :-) as they look to rescue a French informant with some intel on Nazi positions.

    1. Thanks! I am really enjoying putting it together and getting everyone's ideas on the rules and how to make them better.

      This playtest went very smoothly, and almost too easy for the group so I am thinking I will bring them back for a much harder mission this weekend.

  3. It's nice to see a system taking shape, great work o far.

    re: gear and loot, isn't rerolling a dice equivalent to rolling one more die? As long as you have a second die to reroll while keeping the highest one, it's the same. The only case when it's different is if you only had one die to roll.

    1. Good point, rerolling a die is just like adding a die. Interesting, I had not thought of that.
